We would like to remind you that, in order to use a property for tourist rental, having the authorization of the homeowners’ association is not sufficient.
In Andalusia, and therefore in Benalmádena, it is mandatory to register the property in the Andalusian Tourism Registry (RTA), managed by the Regional Government of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía).
Only after obtaining this official license/registration is the property legally authorized for tourist use.
Essential steps to rent a property for tourist purposes:
Ensure that the community statutes or agreements allow tourist use.
Submit the required declaration to the Regional Government of Andalusia to register the property in the Tourism Registry.
Obtain the registration number (VFT/MA/XXXX), which must be included in all listings and platforms.
Comply with all current legal obligations (complaints forms, guest registration, minimum equipment requirements, etc.).
Please note that operating a tourist rental without registration in the RTA may result in financial penalties, even if the homeowners’ association has given its approval.
