The Urbanization La Capellanía was founded in the year 1973 by uniting five different areas of the hill between Carvajal and the Carretera Retamar under one general administration:

The East part consisting of the four areas La Capellanía 1, La Capellanía 2, Los Olivos and Los Almendros.The East and West parts are not communicated by roads between each other except at the two entrances to the urbanization at the very top and at the bottom part of the hill.

The East part consist of 232 plots and the West part of 100 plots which makes a total of 332 plots, all just designed for detached villas with a maximum construction of two floors.

La Capellanía has its own management with its administration-office in Calle Pamplona No.2 in the East part of the urbanization with an administrator working there. Besides the administrator there are three more full-time employees in charge of maintaining and cleaning roads, roadside ditches, green zones and street lightening etc.

The urbanization is administrated through a democratic and transparent management and yearly general meetings (AGM).

At the AGM-meetings all important issues and possible changes are discussed and voted by the owners. They also approve the accounts of the passed year and the budget for the next year.

The AGM is chaired by a committee of five home-owners from La Capellanía.

President, vice president and three committee members - who are all elected at the AGM every 2:nd year. The work of the committee consists in monthly meetings where all necessary items are discussed. Always searching for improvements and cost effective solutions as well as finding solutions for any problem occurred.

The committee also prepares the agenda for the next AGM, and if there are urgent decisions to be made, convokes an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) at any time of the year to make decisions by a democratic voting of all the home-owners.
